Welfare Initiatives
Welfare Stamp introduced at ₹2.
Death Benefit of ₹50,000 announced.
Later Revisions
Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa increased the welfare stamp to ₹5 and the death benefit to ₹1,00,000.
Subsequently, she further enhanced the death benefit to ₹2,00,000.
Later, the welfare stamp was increased to ₹10 and the death benefit to ₹4,00,000, ensuring better security for advocate clerks.
Recent Developments:
A new representation was submitted to the Tamil Nadu Government requesting an increase in the welfare stamp to ₹20 and the death benefit to ₹7,00,000.
The Advocates’ Clerks Welfare Act continues to safeguard the rights and welfare of clerks across the state.
Donations:
Since 2019, Senior Counsel Arl. Sundaresan has been donating ₹25,000 per year.
From 2024, Senior Advocate S. Parthasarathy has also pledged ₹25,000 per year.
Several advocates contribute annually to fund the association’s activities.
Welfare & Community Activities
Financial Support:
₹30,000 is provided immediately to the family of a deceased member.
₹4,000 is given if a legal heir of a member passes away.
₹7,500 is offered for marriage assistance.
₹3,000 per month is given to 10 members in financial distress, selected based on age and need.
Education & Recognition:
Educational assistance is provided after verification.
Public exam toppers in clerks’ families receive gold coins, presented by High Court judges.
Medical Support:
Emergency medical aid is provided.
Annual Medical Camp conducted for members and their families.
Training & Skill Development:
Members are trained in e-filing, benefiting both clerks and advocates.
Leadership & Governance:
Elections are conducted every two years to elect office bearers.
